Lee Ranaldo, “Off the Wall” from Between the Times and Tides
Woah, our first taste of the forthcoming Lee alb (feat. Alan Licht on other gtr!) Now, while only true squares would say that Sonic Youth aren’t purveyors of melody themselves, one has to admit that this is a kinda staggeringly hook-y string of chimes from Lee. I am even more excited for this alb than I already was, knowing there’s a chance it may be loaded with further verse-chorus-bridge-chorus operations like this one. Woah, huh.
